Courses in Art: Painting and Drawing techniques
In the cradle of the Renaissance
The school has its premises in a 19th century building in the center of Florence in front of the Bargello National Museum.
The area is close to the Cathedral and the Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall.
The student is literally immersed in the artistic, historical and cultural heart of Florence, the "cradle of the Renaissance", within walking distance of the most prestigious monuments of the Romanesque, Gothic and the 15th century art.
Drawing and Painting Courses
Students have the opportunity to attend our Art courses either in English or in Italian. They can be easily introduced into basic drawing and painting techniques or improve their artistic skills by studying traditional techniques such as oil, watercolour and fresco. At the beginning of each workshop teachers will evaluate the students’ skills and help them to establish their goals.
Credits available.
Fresco workshops, life drawing and workshops
In addition to the regular Art courses it is possible to take shorter courses and study for example the Fresco or Life drawing techniques with models posing in the nude, as well as attend the preparatory course for the admission exam to the Fine Art Italian Academies. Our school can also offer exhaustive workshops on specific techniques such as sketchbook, portrait, open air and landscape, sanguine and other classical techniques, watercolor...
Art History courses
Florence is an open-air museum and as such it should be explored by our students with the help of teachers and guides. Our courses in History of Art are meant to be a journey of rediscovery of the visual arts which flourished in Tuscany in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period. Visits to the most important museums of Florence such as the Uffizi Gallery, the Academy Gallery, the Pitti Palace, are offered on a monthly basis.
